IV stands are essential medical equipment, used daily in hospital settings and treatment centers to hold intravenous fluid bags in place so that patients receive the antibiotics, saline solution, or complex chemotherapy drugs they need. With a portable IV bag holder, the patient receiving his medication can move about while pushing the IV pole on its wheels.

Product Usage

In medical settings, the IV stand is used to hang intravenous fluid drip bags on a steady base, connected by a thin tube through which the fluid flows into the patient’s vein. This method allows for continuous, evenly distributed fluid delivery, as opposed to one-time injections.

Portable IV poles with hanging bag holders are important when administering treatment to allow the patient to move around a medical facility for medical testing and personal needs. IV poles can be used as saline bag stands, for antibiotic drips, or in any situation where a longer exposure to a drug or fluid is indicated. For efficiency, IV carts may come with multiple hooks, so that caregivers dispensing multiple infusions may hang more than one bag on the pole, and easily switch to the next bag when the first drip bag is empty.
